this is jumbled.

God is love.

The greatest commandment summed up the entire law: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and might. The second similar, love your neighbor as yourself.

But why?

Why love God when life doesn't work out - when you personally don't have answers. God speaks and works in other people, but I can sure tell you, He doesn't work in me.

Yet, God is love.

It's either the greatest news you've ever received or the most unimaginable impossible statement you refuse to believe.

What should you believe?

Is GOD really love?

The love of God...[is] that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live.     - 1 John 4:9

There's a difference between breathing and living. Because you can breathe and live a life of death, or breathe and live a life of life.

The world breathes. Either it's inhabitants just breathe and breathe and breathe until their breath dies - or they breathe yet live for something else that breathes and lives and dies. It's a hopeless cycle.

Assuming 1 John 4:9 is actually true, and if Christ gives actual life -

What is that life? What do we do with these short years we juggle in our hands?

If true life is accessible only through Christ, what does that look like?

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. - 1 John 4:15

Jesus gives the key to this life - obviously in God. Because through Jesus, we have access to what? God - life. Yet, this isn't one-sided. We pray hard for God to abide in us, yet abiding in God ourselves? Who has the time and effort to even think of pursuing that? We're busy with life!

But wait a minute.

True living is in Christ. We're not living for our busy life.

...everyone who loves is of God and knows God. - 1 John 4:7

God is love. If He abides in us - we have love itself.

If God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. - 1 John 4:11
Love is a broad term. Do we just tolerate one another? Do we just love them with I'll-love-you-when-I-have-time-and-effort love or with unconditional even-when-it's-killing-me love? Jesus did. You know that cheesy phrase, what would Jesus do? It's not just an inspirational little saying you put on your car bumper. What did Jesus do? He gave His life for traitors who weren't even worthy to be thought of. He gave His life, not just for sinners, but ultimately showing the love of God and to fulfill God's will. Jesus abides in the Father (they're one) and that is seen firsthand by Jesus' crazy love. Which by the way, He could only love if He abides in God - and duh, because He is God!

We love like Christ - and love is an indicator that God abides in us - God is love! - God lives in us and we are able to love like Him.
